Parents are in the business of people making. Juvenile justice professionals are in the business of people changing. The first step in facilitating change is understanding the family in which the youth is being raised. All families are both functional and dysfunctional. As a result of attending this workshop participants will examine their own experiences and values as a bridge to understanding the dynamic rules and roles of troubled families |

Barbara Dooley, PhD has worked with youth and families for more than 40 years, working over 19 years with the Madison County Juvenile Court Services. She began in 1983 as the Director of the Tennessee Juvenile Justice Training Center and in 1984 she was appointed Director of Juvenile Court Services. Dr. Dooley has a B.A. in Sociology, an M.A. in education and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology. She is Reality Therapy Certified and is a licensed professional counselor. Since retiring, Dr. Dooley has served as a consultant/trainer and is very active in several community organizations. |
